As a socially and environmentally responsible medical institution, the hospital is committed to reducing carbon emissions and integrating energy efficiency measures to lessen its environmental impact.
Energy Overview
In 2024, Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital’s total energy consumption was 44,632.17 GJ, with an energy intensity of 0.8865 GJ/m². The majority of energy use came from electricity, accounting for approximately 87.72% of total consumption. The hospital actively supports the net-zero carbon goal and follows the international standard ISO 14064-1:2018 for greenhouse gas inventory. A comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventory is conducted and verified by a third-party organization. In 2024, the hospital’s total greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 5,796.21 metric tons.

To achieve this goal, the hospital has adjusted the operating hours of electrical equipment, replaced chilled water units, promoted the digitization of medical records, and implemented telemedicine—all aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. Through these proactive carbon reduction actions, the hospital successfully reduced 334.91 metric tons of CO₂e in 2024, marking a significant step toward a greener and more sustainable healthcare environment.
