4.2 International Engagement
International Engagement
In addition to providing medical services to local communities, the Hospital actively extends its reach internationally by participating in a range of global medical cooperation and engagement initiatives.
Fleet of Friendship
Each year, the Navy forms the “Fleet of Friendship” to represent the President and armed forces of Taiwan in official visits to the heads of state of diplomatic allies. The fleet also conducts simulated exercises to prepare for the potential evacuation of overseas nationals in times of conflict. As an integral part of the medical support team, the Hospital assigns attending surgeons to accompany the voyage, providing professional healthcare services throughout the voyage, and serving as a reliable safeguard for the health of military personnel.
In 2024, the Hospital participated in the Fleet of Friendship, which lasted over 60 days. During this period, our medical team delivered professional healthcare services to over 300 individuals, ensuring that the troops maintained optimal health throughout the demanding journey. This effort reflects the Hospital’s steadfast commitment to the well-being and support of Taiwan’s armed forces.
International Cooperation
To better serve Taiwanese businesspeople working overseas, the Hospital signed a health screening service agreement with the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam (CTCVN) in 2024, and established a medical and health screening collaboration agreement with The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines, Inc. (TCCI). Through these partnerships, the Hospital actively expands its connections and cooperation models with Taiwanese chambers worldwide, delivering high-quality health screening services and continuously strengthening its capacity to safeguard the health of Taiwanese nationals abroad.
The Hospital offers a wide range of health screening services, including personalized programs coordinated by dedicated nursing staff, professional health consultations, and comprehensive medical care. Our goal is not only to streamline the health screening process but also to foster a sense of community and care among Taiwanese businesspeople living far from home—ensuring they feel warmth and support even while abroad. Looking ahead, the Hospital remains committed to enhancing its medical service environment and delivering more comprehensive, high-quality healthcare and health screening services for overseas Taiwanese businesspeople and their families.
In addition, the Hospital’s physicians also participated in overseas medical outreach programs organized by the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps. Through these efforts, they not only applied their medical expertise but also contributed to global health and well-being—bringing hope and meaningful change to underserved communities. As of the end of 2024, 1 physician from the Hospital had participated in an international medical outreach mission sponsored by public funding.
